Respect For Life Report

Brothers,

Please consider joining in our Respect Life Rosary on Sunday, January 16, after the 9:00 Mass in Our Lady's Chapel - On Thursday, December 16, the Food and Drug Administration issued a letter that sanctions the dispensing of abortifacients via telemedicine. Pre-COVID these drugs (RU-496) had to be dispensed in person, at least under the supervision of a doctor. COVID gave the abortion industry the opportunity to argue that having to SEE patients put abortion staffs in danger of contracting COVID-19. I don't know how this is going to operate. Heretofore, a woman seeking a medical abortion arrived at the facility, got a pregnancy test, got an ULTRASOUND scan (unless the patient asks, the staff does not share the ULTRASOUND picture with the patient), took the first one or two pills in the office and was sent on her way with a little brown bag containing the pills for the second part of the procedure. The first pill(s) cut off nutrients to the embryo causing it to die. After a day or two, the patient takes the other two pills to induce labor and pass out the dead baby. Planned Parenthood website advises that if a patient experiences excessive bleeding they should go to a hospital emergency room. ER statistics show that there are more complications cases arising out of medical (RU-486) than out of surgical abortions. This FDA move is a bad one. I get a picture of a young woman, pregnant, on her computer arranging for the pills to be sent to her at her college dorm. Ensuing complications? Go to an emergency room.

- NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE MARCH, Friday, January 21, Washington, D.C. Out of caution, we have decided not to hire a bus to attend the Jan 21st March. I am going to do what we did long before we had a bus or two, i.e., drive to D.C. myself, park at Union Station and walk to the rally site. If you are of the same mind and want to meet up in D.C. let me know. I'm sure we can find each other down there.

- Our Council has received thank you notes from Rachel's Vineyard Retreats, Undefeated Courage and Women's Care Center for donations we recently made. Thank you, Brothers, for assisting these worthwhile efforts.
